Brit’s first trip to India & Golden Triangle with bonus

While Brit was still touring around Delhi and posting stories on Instagram, I messaged her to check if she was aware of the upcoming festival of Holi and if she had any plans. As expected, she had no idea and said her tour might plan something. I gave her a heads-up on what to expect in general, but I didn’t ask where she was going to be.

The day after Holi, she posted stories of the celebration from Udaipur in Rajasthan. I was so impressed by the celebration photos. I believe she definitely got a Holi celebration as a bonus on her trip.

She mentioned that Holi was one of the most amazing experiences she had in her life and that she would probably like to come again for it. She said they don’t have such community celebrations in the USA.

After touring the Golden Triangle (Delhi, Agra, and Rajasthan), they travelled southwards to Goa with brief stops in Gujarat and Mumbai.

Having been to Goa myself, I asked about her experience there. She preferred North Goa over South Goa because there were fewer people and it was more peaceful.

Lastly, I asked about her dislikes during the trip, and she mentioned two incidents. Firstly, while at Jama Masjid in Delhi, she felt uncomfortable as people wanted to take photos with her. Secondly, while relaxing on a beach in Goa, she and her friend noticed suspicious behaviour from some men attempting to record them on their mobile phones. She stared at them to make them stop. I asked her if they were in bikini? She said yes, but it should not matter.

In addition, she mentioned that there was a general sense of being stared at by men, which made her uneasy. It felt more pronounced because there were more men than women.

Overall, she enjoyed her visit to India.
